Aciphex
Indications:
Aciphex is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease and similar conditions involving excessive stomach acid. Aciphex is also used to help healing of erosive esophagitis.
How to take:
Aciphex is usually given for 1 to 2 months only. Always follow your doctor's instructions regarding the recommended dosage, usually 20 mg orally once a day, after the morning meal. Aciphex is usually taken with a full glass of water with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole. Chewing the tablet may cause too much of the medication to be released.
Precautions:
Never use this medication if you have allergic reactions to rabeprazole or to similar medicines such as lansoprazole (Prevacid), esomeprazole (Nexium), omeprazole (Prilosec, Zegerid), or pantoprazole (Protonix). Your healthcare provider may adjust the dose if you have severe liver conditions.
