Indications:

Nexium is used in treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms and some other conditions involving excessive stomach acid, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Nexium can also be used to aid healing damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid).

How to take:

always take Nexium exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Nexium is usually used for short periods of time, up to 8 weeks only. Your healthcare provider may recommend adjusting a dosage or taking a second course of treatment if you need additional healing time. Take Nexium with a full glass of water at least one hour before a meal.

Precautions:

Never take Nexium if you are allergic to esomeprazole or any of these benzimidazole medicines: albendazole or mebendazole. Your health provider may want to adjust the dosage or run some tests if you have a history of liver condition or other conditions. Remember that Nexium can’t be used for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms.
Nexium can be used in combination with antibiotics to treat some conditions. Always follow your doctor’s directions when you use such medicines together.
